Judy's Note: I am still in awe at how easy this method is and find all that Cheryl Phillips's methods are simply, now why didn't I think of that? Her mathematical genius comes from years of study at university.
Rings That Bind offers a new process in quilt construction.
- First you'll begin with simple strips sewn into strip sets.
- Using your Arc-Ease TM tool, you'll cut arcs from the strip sets and sew them into rings. The rings will appear to have been made with many tiny pieces.
- Next, you'll sew the rings onto backing circles. Although you're sewing around a circle, it isn't a curved seam that has to open flat.
- The rings are simply flipped to the other side much like a facing in clothing construction.
- Quilting and scalloped edges are added to each block individually, before the blocks are assembled.
- When the blocks are sewn together and topstitched, your quilt is finished!
