Hello Everyone,
We've had some rain this week! Countryside
is looking a picture again already, nice and green. Not much, but
a little. Was a wonderful home coming to drive through puddles
and see water running into the dams.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ……
One of the best finds
I came home with from my visit to USA a few weeks ago was some electric
scissors for John to help him with in the manufacturing of our Pleat Makers.
It is the first time ever that he has been so enthusiastic about one of
my expeditions. I've used battery operated scissors and electric
scissors before, but never have I had such a lightweight, ergonomic, user-friendly
item such as this is. So, like the advert for Remington Shavers,
"I liked the product so much I bought the company" - well, not quite,
but I had to share the experience with you so I've purchased a whole lot
of them and they arrived last night.
The
My-T-Fine Cordless Electronic Cutter is a multi-purpose
cutting tool that will cut just about anything. A lot of the fabric
booths at the show I attended were using them to cut fabric off the bolt
rather than the rotary cutter as they served their customers. I
was really impressed and used them for a while and was absorbed with the
frenzy of customer's delight and their comments. Certainly not for
cutting around templates, but for so many other uses, they will be so
handy. If you suffer from weak wrists due to arthritis or carpal
tunnel syndrome, then these are for you. May be used in either hand
too, so are suitable for left handers. This first shipment do require
an adaptor for our power, but I've sourced some of these and have included
it for no extra cost. Do read more about these and note that you
are the first to know before I have them available at shows because I
have limited stock until a big shipment arrives. Always like to
tell my friends first. Order now. Early Mother's Day Gift?
Have added Sue Box's new CD to the website now
so you can view all the designs within.
Endearing
Embroidery Design Collection has so many possibilities for combining
the designs that I know you will have a fabulous time making heirlooms
to treasure for years. Absolutely perfect for photos to fabric using
the frames and the delightful other embroideries. So, gather your
thoughts and make that Wedding, Anniversary or Heirloom Remembrance Quilt
you've always dreamed of putting together.
For those attending the Craft & Quilt Fair in Hobart next
week, remember we are travelling across the Tasman by boat with our van
minus the trailer, so we can't bring it all. Our stand is much smaller
than when on the mainland, so you really need to email me for anything
in particular before the close of Saturday 25th March. Don't forget to print off
your Show Coupons
and bring to the Show too. For the first time Punch with Judy
is offering a special discount coupon in the Craft & Quilt Fair Guide
as well. It is for all Clover Products purchased at the Show so
be sure to obtain your copy in this Saturday's Mercury Newspaper.
The show has new times this year, Wed to Sat and 10.00am till 4.00pm.
Don't get caught out and come on Sunday!!! Would love you to attend
my Workshop on "Inspirational Ideas using the Pleat Makers" in Workshop
2 at 1.30pm each day.
Girls attending the Craft & Quilt Fair at the Gold Coast,
have you booked yet for my Pre Show Seminar entitled "Circles & Curves"?
Full details are available on our website. Don't miss out, you know
from past experience they fill quickly. Email myself or Rebecca
Reed at rebeccar@expertiseevents.com.au
It is on Wednesday 11th April from 2.00pm - 4.30pm the cost of which is
$30.00. Bookings now being accepted for other States too, awaiting
confirmation of timetables. Now, definitely, for this Show you will
have to ask for any special orders for us to bring since our stand is
only 1/3 our normal size. That's all we could be offered, remember
HIM talked me into going at the very last moment to be included in the
program.
Because of our attendance at the above show,
I've had to change the dates of the Pleat
Maker Retreat originally being held in April to now be
held in August. Full details will be mailed out regarding all Retreats
over the next few days.
Punch with Judy is still attending the Stitches & Craft Show in Brisbane
at the beginning of May too - I've had several enquiries re "are we or
aren't we?" I will have further updates on other shows shortly.
When in Melbourne last week, I saw a gorgeous
scarf in the window of a very exclusive store and it was identical to
the one featured as our Free
Project at present using Clover's Pom Pom maker. High
price it was too. You can make your own! Now, I've also had
several emails re my spelling in the last Newsletter about
making Pom Pons. Yes, this is really the correct spelling, it wasn't
a deliberate mistake. The word Pom Pom (as we commonly call those
little fluffy balls) really means "a quick-firing, automatic gun" according
to good dictionaries. So, there you go! I was taught correctly
at school afterall.
Take care and I'll be back with a normal Newsletter in April,
your friend, Judy
