Hi Everyone,

This week I am holding a Digitizing & Customizing Retreat at our warehouse (and the new Air Conditioning is working superbly as it is still very hot here), so forgive me for this brief message, a true Newsletter will be winging your way next week and it will have a huge amount of news and updates for you.  However, because the Melbourne Stitches & Craft Show commences tomorrow, Wednesday 12th March, I wanted to remind you that Punch with Judy will NOT be attending.  The ONLY Stitches we'll be at will be the Brisbane Show at the end of April beginning of May. 30th April - 4th May, 2008.

I know so many of our regular Melbourne Stitches visitors will be very disappointed with all the above, but I'd like to make it up to you in a small way.

If you have a Victorian Address, for one week only, you may purchase anything from our website (that's not already a special offer) enjoying a 10% discount PLUS we'll mail it to you FREE of any Postage Charges.  Plus, if Punch Points Vouchers would normally be issued, we'll include them too. This offer expires Tuesday 18th March at midnight. 

See, you can still purchase any of our little treasures and not have to carry them home, plus, they'll be cheaper!  This is the least I can do for you.  When you order, normal prices will appear, you will need to mention in the Additional Comments section this offer via my Newsletter as it will be ONLY for those within our Newsletter Group because you're special. 

Also, remember that the Stitches & Craft Shows now only have 3 shows per year, Melbourne March, Brisbane April & Sydney August in their concerned efforts to make 3 larger & better shows for you, the customer.  I have simply made an effort to attend only two shows per year in each of the Eastern States and one in each of the other States, so have chosen carefully which shows Punch with Judy can attend.  The full list is on my website.  We are not attending New Zealand this year and have just announced that we also, for this year, cannot squeeze in Hobart's new dates due to a Guest Visitor from USA conducting a Retreat at The Rock a few days before.  Sandra Chandler from Just Curves will also be my guest at the Craft & Quilt Fair at Darling Harbour, Sydney in June.  So, my Tassie good friends, I am just so sorry to give you this news but I will visit Tassie and hold some "What's New?" sessions for you and maybe some other classes during the year.  Stay tuned, or, let me know if your group wishes to participate in these.

For those who have asked, Jen (my previous Girl Friday/Secretary) gave birth yesterday to Thomas Isaac Arthur and both are well.

 1. RETREATS

Machine Embroidery Retreat will be held from 12th - 14th April, 2008.
If you own a computerized machine embroidery machine, this is a must! Everyone learns so much whilst having a great time with other fellow enthusiasts. Reports from students who've attended this class claim they learnt more than any periodical classes held in shops. Of course you would, three days of concentrated learning can't be equalled.

Machine Embroidery Techniques Retreat will be held from 16th - 18th April, 2008. Wow, didn't this one cause an impact when we held it last year! This is for those who don't own a computerized machine. So many techniques, so much machine knowledge to be gained, this possesses a wealth of information for our passion of sewing.

Patchwork, the Just Curves Way with Sandra Chandler from USA will be held from 19th - 21th June, 2008.
Sandra is the inventor of the famous Curve Master Presser Foot and many may have seen her demonstrate on the various TV Shows you can now view on your computer. What we have planned is learning new ways for old favourites using Sandra's unique system of acrylic templates and the Curve Master Presser Foot.
Eg. Drunkard's Path, Tamed & Wild. Truly, I've never seen this block made so easily and it's not any method like you think.
Dresden Plate - No Applique. The Just Curves way eliminates all applique and creates blocks much quicker and more consistently. Even the centre circle is inserted, not appliqued and all with no pinning of seams! Seems impossible, but true!
Hexagon Orange Peel. Make a block similar to Grandmother's Flower Garden but not the tiny pieces. Great when done as the photo shown here in a fussy cut manner like kaleidoscopes.
Friendship Knot - done in a similar manner to Double Wedding Ring but using the Just Curves way.

More Machine Embroidery (previously called our Advanced Class) will be held from 7th - 9th September, 2008. This is for those who've attended a previous Machine Embroidery Retreat with us.

Fun with Embellishments Retreat to be held from 11^th - 13^th September, 2008.

You've asked for it, so we have obliged.  Yes, we will be using the new Embellishing Machines, but that's only one small part of the classes. There are so many new fun things to do in craft, sewing and patchwork that we're putting together our ideas of what will simply be a truly fun experience.  Whilst we are in our early stages of planning, if you have anything in particular you would like to have included, please email me.  Naturally, this will be very sewing orientated.

2. WHAT'S NEW
Many will be announced in next week's Newsletter, but if you wish to visit the website's What's New? then please do so as I've commenced adding some to it, though not all.  Still to come are a range of rulers from Quilt in a Day, the new Toolless Patchwork pre-printed fabric from France for Log Cabin and others, a fabulous new range of products from Quiltsmart (printed fusible interfacing), several new machine embroidery CDs from Hatched in Africa, new EZ Rulers, new Clover products, heaps of new patterns for bags and quilting, new books and the fabulous Boondoggle Rulers (which we sold out of at both shows last month).  All the above are in stock, just need that 10th day in the week as I've used up the 8th and 9th already!
