Rings That Bind - Cheryl Phillips

(0 reviews)

Can you imagine making a Double Wedding Ring Quilt without the tiny pieces, without the curved seams, without the binding, then quilting it block by block? The Rings That Bind method is for you!

Rings That Bind offers a new process in quilt construction.

  • First you'll begin with simple strips sewn into strip sets.
  • Using your Arc-Ease TM tool, you'll cut arcs from the strip sets and sew them into rings. The rings will appear to have been made with many tiny pieces.
  • Next, you'll sew the rings onto backing circles. Although you're sewing around a circle, it isn't a curved seam that has to open flat.
  • The rings are simply flipped to the other side much like a facing in clothing construction.
  • Quilting and scalloped edges are added to each block individually, before the blocks are assembled.
  • When the blocks are sewn together and topstitched, your quilt is finished!

48 page full colour book including an Arc-Ease Tool ™

Judy's Note: I am still in awe at how easy this method is and find all that Cheryl Phillips's methods are simply, now why didn't I think of that? Her mathematical genius comes from years of study at university.

Square2 by Deb Tucker

(0 reviews)

Finally a tool that simplifies the construction of the Diamond Square unit without having to use paper foundation piecing. It is an all-in-one tool that gives you a window template for accurately cutting the center square, a chart printed right on the ruler for the recommended size to cut the triangles sewn to the four sides of the center square and a trim down section on the ruler that simplifies the alignment of ruler to fabric unit and allows everyone to clean up the unit to a precise measurement every time. You can see the tool demonstrated on our online video demonstration. This unit is a tricky one to get accurate, but with the Square² tool and technique of oversizing and trimming down you’ll have far better success than with any other product on the market.

  • Simply sew three 2-1/2" wide strips together to form a strata
  • Align the markings on the Strip & Twist Template with the seams and cut
  • These units are twisted and turned, then straight stitched together to create a square finished block
  • You'll be amazed at the design variations you can make simply by twisting and turning the blocks

Tucker Trimmer 11 by Deb Tucker

(0 reviews)
An “in between” version of the original Tucker Trimmer I tool, this handy ruler allows you to do all of the same functions as the first except that the sizes of the units are in ¼” or ¾” increments. Although these particular sizes are not nearly as popular as the  ½” and whole inch increments available on the Tucker Trimmer I, they are sometimes part of your quilting projects. And if you’ve ever tried to trim down a 2 ¾” hourglass unit you will highly appreciate this tool. The diagonal guidelines on the Tucker Trimmer II will cross precisely at the center of a 2 ¾” unit so finding the center is a breeze. A great supplemental tool to have in your ruler collection.

Tucker Trimmer 111 by Deb Tucker

The third in a series of rulers, this version of our Tucker Trimmer is used for any block or unit that is larger than 6” finished in size. It has all of the sizes of the Tucker Trimmer I plus 13 additional size options up to and including trimming blocks to 13” that will finish to 12 ½” when sewn. I love to use this tool to trim down my Lemoyne Star blocks made with my Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star tool and any type of block that needs to be trimmed and squared to a specific size. A terrific tool with all the same benefits as the original Tucker Trimmer.
