Been around for a generation but still very popular: the original Beeswax and Holder by Collins.

It strengthens thread to prevent breakage and reduces knotting and tangles. 

Simply place the thread in the open notch and draw it back and forth several times to coat the thread with wax.

Also excellent for lubricating a stubborn zipper and to smooth the surface of your iron plate.  Ease the tracks in drawers and windows.

The handy holder keeps the wax clean and serves as an excellent protective case.  Store in a cool, dry location away from heat.
