The Adjustable 3rd Hand Binding Folder is Nine 3rd Hand Binding Folder Tools in one! The tool was designed for use with wool mats to make it easy to use anywhere--even at your sewing table at a quilt retreat. Made in USA by Purple Hobbies.
Now you can easily make binding in 9 different sizes thanks to the Adjustable 3rd Hand Binding Folder. The sizes range from 4 inch folded to 2 inch strips down to 2 inches folded to 1 in strips and all 1/4 in sizes in between. Each tool is set to create 2 1/2 in binding out of the box but can quickly and easily be changed to any of the other sizes using the included 3H Peg Tool. The Adjustable 3H Binding Folder was designed for use with wool mats for maximum flexibility. Simply attach the tool to your wool mat using four straight pins (not included). Now you can create binding from your table at a quilt retreat. No ironing board necessary!
It comes in many colours but only Aqua (officially called Blue) and Purple are available.

Our standard postage & handling fee of $14.00 will be added to your total. Needles, Patterns & other envelope sized products will be only $8.00 p/h (we will adjust the postage cost manually prior to processing your payment) These are for postage within Australia only.
Some large or heavy items will have an additional postage cost.
If you would like us to use Express Post, please leave a message in the comments section on the Checkout page. Express Post, Insurance or Sign on Delivery there will also be an extra charge.
International orders are charged at actual postage cost and are always more than the automated $14.00.
You will be contacted prior to processing your payment if your postage charges will be more than our standard fee.

To create your binding, simply insert the 3H Peg Tool into the size of the strip that you want to create. The sizes are clearly marked on the top of the tool.
Insert a strip of fabric into the Adjustable 3rd Hand Binding Folder Tool (note that there is a slot on top to allow you to use a pin to help pull the fabric through if necessary) then slowly pull the strip and press with an iron as you go. It's like having a 3rd hand to fold the binding in half while you iron!

How To Use:
Step 1: To use, simply position the peg into the slot pointing to the size you want to fold. The example to the right shows 2.5 to 1.25". (This is the size that the tool is set to when you receive it.)Use pins to attach the tool to your wool mat. (Pins not included with purchase.)
Step 2: Then load the fabric strip. There are slots on the top and bottom of the tool to help you load the fabric using a pin, if necessary.
Use pins to position the tool onto your wool mat. I like to position mine so I can pull the fabric away from me.
Step 3: Press and hold the iron about 1 inch away from the tool while you slowly pull the fabric to allow the iron to set the fold. (If you touch a hot iron to the tool it will melt!)
