Why purchase a Mylar Embroidery ® Design collection? 

Get the beauty and sparkle of a metallic thread without all the hassles or expense! Metallic thread can be expensive, troublesome and itchy. Mylar makes your regular Rayon or Polyester embroidery thread look like you used a specialty thread such as metallic. It gives it a subtle, elegant sparkle.

Any collection labelled as Mylar has been digitized specifically for use with mylar. Mylar is an opalescence tissue used in stuffing gift bags and is normally found in the wrapping paper aisle of most stores that carry gift wrap. It can either be found on a tube or folded in packaging. It is NOT the mylar you think of as in Mylar balloons. Any item that has a Mylar Embroidery Design stitched on it CAN be washed in a washer, dried in a dryer and ironed. They may be put on quilt blocks and on T-shirts as they do not lose their sparkle.

It is highly recommended that you do NOT resize the Mylar Embroidery Designs. They are digitized specifically to allow the mylar to sparkle through. As such, it is recommended that the Mylar Embroidery Designs always have mylar used when indicated on the colour change chart or the background fabric will show through the design.
