'Foldy Stuff' Pleated Quilts by Donna Poster
The "Foldy Stuff" is a new, unique method of creating quilt designs that resemble pleated quilt blocks. "Foldy Stuff" is so EASY! Making it ideal for beginners though the experienced will have relaxed fun too.
Imagine making all the blocks for a quilt without even sewing a seam! Too good to be true?
How it's done……..
- Strips of fabric are cut to specific lengths and stacked in the order they will be sewn.
- Iron-on transfer sheets are used to produce a grid on calico squares.
- The fabric strips are then sewn to the calico using the guidelines for positioning. Sewing accuracy is not important, as the strip is simply being attached to the calico. This is not a seam.
- The strip is then folded to the next guideline covering the stitching.
- The result is a pleated block.
Choose from Amish, Chevron, Courthouse Steps, Embellishments, Fan, Hexagon, Log Cabin, Miniatures, Pineapple, Round Cabin and Whirling Cabin.
