Heirloom Embroidery Books by Kaylene A. Evans
Kay has been a good friend for several years after she contacted me seeking advice about the possibility of becoming "professional" and exhibiting her designs for sale. Encouraging her because I could recognize the vast talent she possessed, Kay with her husband Peter, became fellow Show Exhibitors for several years until her "retirement". We keep in touch and visit each other annually.

Julie Hall contacted me a little while ago asking if I would be interested in taking a peek at her work. I politely replied, "send me some samples for perusal." WOW! I immediately snapped up her delightful work. You will be thrilled too.

What Needle?
Ever forgotten what type or size needle you had been using in your sewing machine? Tried to read that tiny writing on the needle shaft? This is your answer. What Needle allows you to "note" the type and size needle in use, so as when to store it you will know exactly where to place it. Just remember, you need to then change the What Needle? when you replace it with another ready for your next project!

Hooley Dooley Village Patch by Suzanne Gray
Suzanne Gray is famous for her appliqué cushion designs and finally she has her entire collection, plus some new ones, assembled together in this very affordable book. Once your appetite has been touched with just one cushion design, you will never rest until you've made the entire Village Patch Quilt or the Christmas Tree Skirt. Iron-on Appliqué, embroidery and embellishment ideas will excite you to create any one or all of these designs.

Janny Primrose Machine Embroidery Designs
Janny Primrose will be familiar to many via her popular projects in Australia's Machine Embroidery Magazine, so it is with pride that I offer you yet another talented Aussie's CD Collection. Janny was taught to sew by her mother from a very early age and by the time she left school was even sewing most of her own clothes. Janny continued to sew when she married and had children but it was after she joined a sewing club that the decorative side of sewing drew her interest. While teaching her skills at the local sewing machine shop along came computerized sewing machines AND grandchildren! Digitizing designs for her grandchildren, the ladies in her sewing classes spurred Janny on to commence her own collections. I am sure you will appreciate and benefit from her talent.

The wonderful embroidery collections from Rowena Charlton Designs are expertly digitized from Rowena's original illustrations, then packaged with comprehensive instructions and project information to ensure you too can achieve beautiful results. Rowena's projects are featured regularly in Australia's Machine Embroidery magazine and I'm fortunate enough to have Rowena as our guest demonstrator on our stand at some Sydney Shows.

Leaenda's Sewbiz
Leaenda Ingram is a very talented Australian designer of whom we've been fortunate to have as a demonstrator on our show booths. Leaenda lives in Sydney and has developed her love of sewing from the age of seven and has been teaching sewing and digitizing for the last 10 years or so. Her infatuation with computers and new technology has developed into a passion for designing lots of unusual and very textured machine embroideries. The beauty of hand-sewn needlework from the past has inspired many of her embroidery collections. Leaenda says texture and the effects of light on thread are the two driving forces behind my designs. Many of her projects can be found in the Australian Machine Embroidery magazines.

N Devaa Designs
Some time back, a pair of enthusiastic ladies stopped by my booth excitedly telling me about a new venture for them, digitizing machine embroidery designs. Always willing to promote Aussies, I accepted their request to help promote their work once they were ready to launch their designs, providing they met with certain standards. Well, they did and now they have become known world wide for their cutwork designs and projects featured in Australia's Machine Embroidery Issues.

"N Devaa Designs is a Brisbane based business owned by Kerri-Anne Cook. The business began in August 2003 with her parents Bob and Merle as volunteers helping her to get on her feet. Kerri and Bob are the digitizers with about 10 years experience between them and Merle is the designer, test stitcher, project maker etc. The business name N Devaa is a play on words as their surname is Cook and in Australia's history you will remember that Captain Cook sailed in the "Endeavour" when he first "discovered" the Great South Land. The business name is a variation on the spelling of that ship's name."

E-Moo Crafts
Carol Le Maitre lives on a 10,000 acre cattle farm west of Rockhampton in Queensland. I met Carol when I was invited to conduct a sewing class for a very enthusiastic sewing group in the area which we held at their local hall at Banana (that's the town's name!) a few years ago. Many similar visits since, Carol has become a "best friend" and we love sharing ideas. She has perfected the beautiful artform of stumpwork embroidery but mastering it on the sewing machine instead. Carol is one talented Australian lady who has had no formal training but is always at the machine experimenting with new techniques and designs. Several prizes have come her way, including one for her stumpwork at a recent Husqvarna Convention in USA.

  • The grid will never wear off because the markings are digitally etched not screen-printed.

  • The face of the ruler has a slight clinging effect, even on the most slippery of surfaces.

I know you'll adore these!!

Three new Christmas patterns from Designs by Ros - Quilt Patterns
Rosalind Veness confesses to being totally obsessed by patchwork and quilting and has been since she first learnt patchwork in the early 1980's. Living on the south coast of N.S.W. she is now an accredited teacher with the Canberra Quilters and is available for tutoring classes.

Most of her designs are suitable for all skill levels, with an emphasis on accuracy. Generally, her colour choices are minimal, to make it easier for beginners and for those who do not maintain an extensive stash.Rosalind Veness is a member of a patchwork group that I belong to and first approached me regarding her range of Half Square Triangle patterns. I included them in the range of patterns I took on the Show circuit and observed people's comments. As a result, Ros has listened to those comments and my guidelines coming up with the range of Easy Triangles™ and patterns available here.

Rajah® Cloth
I have been using a Rajah® Cloth for years and years and absolutely swear by them. There have been so many "copies" of the original Rajah® Cloth, but none have measured up. Now, the manufacturer has improved it even more by releasing the NEW Heavy Duty version. This one is not NEW as of this year, but may be new to many who have the first version. Always use STEAM and press your garments like the professionals!

MV Designs
Michelle Pullen, now semi-retired enjoying motherhood, was a pioneer in simplifying machine techniques with her "Easy No-Pin Applique" patterns, an "Easy Three Step Method for Cutwork" and her "Innovative Sewing Technique for Battenburg".
Her patterns, techniques and book changed the way we sewed yesteryear's heirlooms. Michelle & Vince were a very popular duo team at Shows both in Australia and USA, with seminars always well attended. Michelle gave up the travelling when expecting Emma and MV Designs was also "retired". I took over her remaining stock but sadly will not be replaced.
Have many fond memories of our "on the road sharing" and am proud to promote another Aussie talent.

Kin Quilting Designs
Keryn Emmerson is well known in Australia as one of our leading quilters having been a quilter for nearly 30 years. Keryn is a member of an internet quilting group to which I belong and has assisted me on my show stand when in her area. She is a very talented quilter and her designs have already attracted overseas attention. I am proud to help promote another Aussie Designer.
